suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions within its
establishment
DEPARTMENT : Billing and collection within the Finance Department
POSITION : Cashier – Traffic department x 2
LEVEL : T6
REFERENCE : 22/22

A. Annual Total Remuneration Package:
Total annual remuneration package of Basic Salary: R142 057.90 (plus benefits: pension.
Medical aid scheme, housing subsidy and 13th Cheque)

B. Minimum Requirements:
– Grade 12 preferably with a finance certificate.
– 1 year practical experience in finance.
– Knowledge of managing transactions with customers using cash register.
– Knowledge of collecting payments in cash or credit and issuing receipts and refunds.
– Customer service orientated.
– Understanding of local government environment
– Computer literate
– Ability to communicate and negotiate at all levels of government and with all relevant
stakeholders.
– Good thinking and interpersonal skills.

D. Key Performance Areas:
Perform the cashier duties by rendering customer service in providing customers with
a receipt for money received. Administer pre–paid sales. Handle customer enquiries
to provide the customer with an excellent service delivery. Administer manual and
electronic payment of connection fees, deposits for services and actual service
accounts. Balance totals for cash and other takings received with records to ensure
all payments are correctly allocated. Report and reconcile amounts collected, float
balancing, cash balancing and cheque balancing. Prepare daily summary and cash
reports.
NB: Qualification and SA citizenship checks will be conducted on all short–listed
candidates. Successful candidates will be subjected to screening and competency
assessments. The successful candidate will be required to sign an employment
contract before commencement of duty, a performance agreement and disclosure of
financial interest.
