APPLICATIONS FOR MISA YOUNG GRADUATE (CANDIDACY) OPPORTUNITIES
MISA is a Schedule 3 government component of the Department of Cooperative Governance (DCoG) established in terms of Section 7(5) of the Public Service Act of 1994 (as amended), with the mandate to provide technical support and build technical capacity for municipalities to enhance their capability to undertake efficient planning , delivery , operations and maintenance of municipal infrastructure. The Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA) hereby offers opportunities for candidacy opportunities aimed at building a technical skills pipeline for local government, through increasing the pool of professionally registered individuals in the management of local government infrastructure. Successful Candidates will be placed in identified municipalities for work exposure.
CANDIDACY PROGRAMME: REF N0: MISA YOUNG GRADUATE PROGRAMME 01/2020
This programme offers opportunities to unemployed young graduates in the following areas:
Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Science, Urban and Regional Planning and Property Valuation
The Young Graduate Programme is a two to three year candidacy programme aimed towards professional registration with relevant professional bodies. Whilst the programme is not exclusively limited to individuals from previously disadvantaged communities, MISA encourages historically disadvantaged individuals to apply. The MISA Young Graduate Programme is a structured work-based candidacy development programme for unemployed youth with relevant technical qualifications from institutions of higher learning. It provides, amongst other opportunities, a monthly stipend and mentorship by experienced mentors.
The recruitment is targeting unemployed youth with requisite qualifications to join the programme from the 2020/21 financial year. Successful candidates will enter into two to three-year candidacy contracts with MISA, depending on the requirements of their respective professional bodies. The candidates will be hosted by identified municipalities for work exposure. Qualifying unemployed youth from the host municipalities are encouraged to apply.
